Support Burg's Eye View
This site publishes St. Petersburg’s own public record — agendas, votes, spending, and what the city sends back when we ask. Getting those records out of the city costs money, and that is what donations are for.
There are real bills behind it. Hosting and software. The fees the city charges for copies of its own records. Legal costs when a record that should be public has to be pried loose. Those arrive whether or not anyone chips in.
Burg’s Eye View is a for-profit LLC, not a charity. Support is not a tax-deductible donation, and nothing here is a charitable contribution. It goes to the costs above.

This project keeps going because readers pay for it. Carrying on the work — transparency, ethical government, and putting what the city actually does in front of people in a form they can read without a law degree — depends on the public choosing to fund it. Nobody takes a profit out of this. Every donation goes back in: the city’s fees, hosting, the legal costs of prying a record loose, and the features still being built.
How the work gets done. This project leans heavily on AI. Thousands of pages of agendas, minutes and spending ledgers are read and cross-checked by machine, and a great deal of the analysis behind what you see here starts that way. A person decides what gets published. Part of what a donation pays for is that tooling.
Everything here was already yours to read and stays free to everyone. What a donation pays for is the next public-records request and putting what it says where anybody can check it — so that a public able to see the record for itself does not depend on who is paying.
